Vintage Antique 1908 Plato Flip-Clock in Brass Carriage Lamp Style Glassed Case
Wow! Folks, here’s the clock that started it all…the mechanics were brought back horizontally in the 60s and 70s as the vintage flip-clocks we know and love today. These Antique turn-of-the-century Plato Flip-Clocks are oh-so-cool, but oh-so-RARE! I’m proud to present it to you in WORKING condition. It winds up nicely and the mechanical clock mechanism seems to go for a good while before needing winding again. The tiles flip nicely, although, sometimes a tile flips halfway, but it seems to correct eventually. The time it keeps is fairly accurate. I would recommend having it cleaned and/or serviced by a watchmaker or jeweler; but, if you’re looking at these clocks, you probably already know this. The brass carriage lamp casing is in exceptional condition, with a nice aged patina. However, it wouldn’t take much polishing to have it shiny again. The glass panels seem to be original with NO CRACKS. This clock is a “bucket list” clock for any seasoned collector’s collection…a trophy clock
