Shogi Pieces: Satsuma Boxwood, Artist UnknownUnsigned shogi pieces.I initially thought they might be by Sanson, but the calligraphy is one-of-a-kind. They are large, wide, and thin, likely made from wood from the early to mid-Showa period. They seem to have been made in the Kansai to Chubu region, and are definitely not from Tendo. These are carved pieces made with Satsuma boxwood and generously lacquered, with a distinctive design for the promoted pawn (tokin).King: 30.7 * 27.2 * 7.7Pawn: 26.2 * 22.2 * 5.7The items for sale are the shogi pieces and the piece bag only.*Please note that the flat box used for photography is not included.Before listing, I lightly polished them with Japanese wax, but I have not used any unnecessary camellia oil or sandpaper.Due to their age, there are corresponding scratches, stains, and blemishes.Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection or are concerned about minor details.Board gameGo
